Corrections to an Existing Entry:
If you have a correction to an existing posting, please send an email to blackforest@websters.net. The correction will be made to the entry in the database for you. Please do not put corrections directly into the database.
Directions: (How to Add a Posting to the Database)
In the SURNAME field of the form below enter your ancestor's surname
only. No first names or middle names in the first text field PLEASE!.
Your ancestor's first name can be included with your posting information in
the second text field. Additional surname spellings should be posted individually.
In the INFORMATION section
of the form below enter 255 characters
(including spaces) or less telling your ancestor's first name, port of entry or exit, year of emigration, ship and any other emigration information that you know. This field is limited to 255 characters
or less. The database will truncate longer entries and the extra characters
will be lost.
Don't forget to
fill in your email address. Researchers
need to be able to contact you. Your posting will be deleted if your email
information is missing. All postings are reviewed and will be edited and/or
deleted completely from the database if inappropriate.
Press the SEND button once.
You can check to see if your information has been received by searching the
database using your surname on the SEARCH PAGE.
Follow the instructions posted on that page.
If you make a mistake and want to begin again, press RESET
FORM to clear the text fields and erase any information typed.
You may then retype your information. You may also use your BACKSPACE
and DELETE keys the same as you would in any word processing program.
